One of the most noticeable movements of recognisable landmarks during the building of the Rhondda by-pass was that of the War Memorial and Cenotaph in Porth. This was dismantled and re-assembled close by. The re-dedication and opening ceremony took place on Sunday the 6th May 2007. I think you'll agree that those responsible have done a fine job of it.

On the 6th of May 2007 Michael Reakes attended the re-dedication ceremony and has sent in some high resolution photographs. As you will see there was a really good turnout, and I am sure many will have been paying tribute to family members lost in the world wars.
